Today I will discuss how I planned and shot the footage needed for this project.

After browsing different templates and watching a video, I concluded that I could just sketch out the shots in a note book. I started by imagining the locations that I had access then started planning how I would use that space. Knowing that I had a decent tripod, I planned where I would set it up and how people would enter or leave the shot. For the A-roll and B-roll footage see this link: Video Files OneDrive

    Equipment

I did all of the filming on a GoPro Hero 8. I have had it for a couple of years and it still captures high quality video and audio. I also have a good tripod and a handheld for it. I was a little bit worried about the sound capture but after playing the video back on my laptop I was pretty happy with it.

    Additional visuals

I chose several photos that I had personally took while I was still active duty, and a few that I found on Marines.mil. Since they are government photos, they are in the public domain. I intend to use them for the intro and outro with music. One picture is of two Marines who were just awarded their Green Belts, I felt it was good imagery to go with the story.
